# ASI — Agent Search Index

> ASI is an independent web search API for AI agents. It crawls and indexes the English-language open web and returns structured results for agent research, source discovery and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

The official website is https://asi.xynatec.com/. ASI stands for Agent Search Index on this website.

ASI builds its own index rather than relying on another search provider's results. Its scope is the open web, with a deliberate focus on English-language content. Reproducible results support testable agent workflows and verifiable answers.

Search is exposed through a lightweight HTTP interface. Each result includes a title, URL, snippet, source and date. The website's response viewer is an illustrative example, not a live search or a complete API specification. The public website does not publish an API base URL, authentication instructions, pricing or service-level guarantees.

Semantic search using embeddings, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration and machine-to-machine payments per query using x402 are planned features. They are not presented as currently available integrations.

ASI respects robots.txt, rate limits and site-owner opt-outs. It returns titles, links and snippets with source information and dates; it does not redistribute full page text. “Open web” describes its coverage, not an open-source license or free usage.
